![]() ![]() I forgot to mention that there's a screw here, so you have to unscrew it. Remember that the blue side points up towards the sky. Make sure you get both of those little cables. This will be exciting to see.Įverything’s here, so it’s pretty easy to swap. I have lots of 8022, but my theory is they’re the same motherboard, so I’ll swap it and see if it works. This is an 8022 printer, but for the purposes of this demonstration I’m going to try 8025. You can get this motherboard from BCH Technologies. The cable on this one looks okay, so the next thing we'll try is replacing the motherboard. If you’re still unsure which side goes where, just take a closer look at the base and you'll be able to see that the middle part is on the right - that’s why the shining part is towards the right. Remember, the shiny part of the cable should be towards your right, and the white part of the cable goes towards your left. When installing, just push the hook into the slot and push the tab in. While you’re doing this, bend the top cover to your left and it will help you release the tab. ![]() I’ve found that the Phillips screwdriver works best with this, for some reason. You will need to push those two tabs to the front, one on each side. The cover has a hook that contains two tabs. ![]() To replace the cable, we need to take the cover off. Thankfully, you don’t have to remove the entire carriage - I’m simply using this as an easier demonstration. If your cable is damaged, some or all of those pins will be partially or totally missing. The pitch refers to the distance between the pins. You will need this 4-pin with a 0.5 mm pitch. If you need a replacement cable, you can purchase one here. You should easily be able to tell if the cable is worn out, because you’re going to see that those pins are either halfway or completely missing. It will show you the printhead is damaged if there’s something wrong with the big cable, but there’s a little cable over here, and sometimes those get worn out or don’t have a good connection. Don’t pay attention to those two bigger cables. Check out this video to see how to replace the scanner. This cable comes in from here and goes all the way to the front of the assembly. If you’re still experiencing issues, you’ve likely got a defective cable. There is a computer chip on the bottom of the cartridge, and if that chip doesn’t have good contact with the printer, the printer cannot read it, so that’s why it might say that the cartridge is missing, even though it’s not. Check to see that you’ve pushed it down completely into the slot and that it’s clicked into place. This usually occurs when you fail to insert the cartridge correctly. Today we’re going to discuss what to do if your printer tells you that there is a cartridge problem-for instance, that the cartridge is missing or damaged. ![]()
